Managing Reps

Manage the reps within your organization who will get paid

Ultimately, Velocity helps manage your organization's commission payouts to your reps.

In this guide, we'll learn how to create, edit, disable, and delete reps

Create Reps

First, navigate to the Reps tab in the navigation sidebar. Click on Add Rep to begin creating a new rep.

Then, enter the basic information for your rep.

Note that a rep identifier is required, which can be a unique identifier you already use to identify this rep within your organization. If you don't already use a unique identifier for your reps, feel free to make one up.

Once the rep has been created, they will appear in the list and are ready to be assigned to an alignment.

Edit Reps

To edit a rep, locate the rep you wish to edit in the list and click on the Actions -> Edit button.

Here, you may change the rep's name, email, linked customer account (necessary if they need to place order directly on behalf of customers), enable order notifications, and permissions. Note that the rep identifier is not editable.

Setting Up Managers

While setting up reps, you are able to set up your Sales Managers within the portal as well. Within the rep permissions, locate the Visibility dropdown. There, select the setting Can see resources that downline reps can see.

This allows your sales managers to see all customers, orders, and draft orders that their downline reps can see. It's important that the Manager's Team is created for this setting to work.

Disable Reps

Disabling a rep has the following side effects:

  1. A disabled rep will be opted out of receiving commission for orders.

  2. Territories may not be assigned to disabled reps, and they will appear disabled on the alignment.

  3. A disabled rep will no longer be able to access their rep portal.

A rep can be disabled in 2 ways:

Disable single rep

Select Actions on the right-hand side of your rep's card and click on Archive

Disable multiple reps

  1. Select multiple reps by clicking the checkbox for each rep you would like to disable.

  2. Click the Actions dropdown and select Archive Selected

Re-enable Reps

To re-enable reps, select Add filter, Rep Status, and select the checkbox Is archived.

Enable single rep

Once the list of disabled reps are displayed, select the Actions button in the reps list view for the rep you would like to enable and click on Restore.

Enable multiple reps

  1. Select multiple reps by clicking the checkbox for each rep you would like to enable.

  2. Click the Actions dropdown and select Restore reps
