As a user of the Velocity Rep Ordering Portal, you have access to all of a store's customers or to a subset of them. Store administrators control that access in the Velocity app, using territories, ownerships, and overrides. See How Commission Is Assigned for how those three mechanisms work together.
After signing in, you see a list of the customers you can order on behalf of. The list also includes a customer that represents you. That record exists so the portal can interact with Shopify, and should not be used for ordering.
The ellipsis on each row opens an actions menu for editing the customer or placing an order for them.
Onboarding a customer
Use the create button at the top of the customers list to enter a new customer's details. If Automatic Ownership is enabled for the store, you receive ownership of every customer you onboard, which means you are commissioned on their future orders.
Customer visibility
Store administrators determine which customers you can see and order for, through any of three mechanisms:
Territories: the postal codes assigned to you on your team's map
Ownerships: a direct assignment of a customer, company, or location to you
Overrides: a commission exception set on a specific customer, company, or location
On the map, customer addresses are matched against the territory you own, which links you to those customers automatically and assigns commission as each order is placed.
Ownerships and overrides are the exceptions to those geographic rules. You can be assigned a customer, and receive commission on their orders, even when you do not own the territory their address falls in.
If you cannot see a customer you expect to see, contact your store administrator.
