Order Management

B
Written by Ben Williams

Much like Shopify, the Velocity Rep Portal allows for both draft orders and standard orders to be created.

Placing an order

Orders can be created from the context menu on a specific customer, or by clicking New Order on the orders list page.

  1. Add products

  2. Choose a customer (optional)

    1. This will be done automatically if "New order" was selected for a customer in the previous step

  3. Select an order completion method

Checkout Flows

Send for approval

This method creates a draft order in the associated Shopify store that requires admin approval. The customer will be notified via email when their order is approved. While waiting for approval, the order exists as a draft order. Once approved, it will no longer be visible in the draft order list, and instead will be visible on the order list page.

Share order

This method allows you to share a copy of the draft order with the customer before it is created. There are two options for sharing:

  1. Send an invoice

    1. This option will send an email invoice to the customer listed on the order, or any other email specified.

  2. Share a link

    1. This option provides a URL and QR code, both of which lead to a copy of the draft order.

Use the QR code sharing option to conveniently share draft orders with customers on-the-go and in person.

Go to checkout

If enabled, this option allows you to place orders on behalf of the customer using their saved payment methods on file.

Order details

Clicking on any order will take you to the order details page. Here you can review the order and view your commission. Order commission is generated from either the commission map or a customer override. For any questions about commission rates, reach out to one of your store's administrators.
