Create, update, and place orders for your customers.

As a user of the Velocity Rep Ordering Portal, you will have access to either all, or a subset of a store's customers. The storefront admins control this access via the Velocity: Commission Maps app territory mapping feature (more on this below).

After logging in, you will see a list of the customers you have been given access to order on behalf of. You will also notice an additional customer that represents you. This customer resource is necessary for interacting with Shopify and should not be used for ordering.

The ellipsis will open an actions menu, allowing you to edit or place orders for any customer.

Onboarding a customer

Velocity is designed to streamline the customer intake and ordering processes, among other things. Use the "create" button at the top of the customers list page to enter new customer info.

Customer visibility

The customers you can see and order for are automatically determined by the app admins via one of the following methods:

  • Territory ownership (map)

  • Customer, Location or Company ownership

  • Customer, Location or Company overrides

On the map, customer addresses are cross-referenced with the territory that you own as a rep. This allows Velocity to automatically link you to the appropriate customers, and assign commission as each order is placed.

Exceptions to theses geographical rules can be established with direct customer-ownership and customer-commission overrides. You may receive commission for certain customers even if you do not own their territory.

If you cannot see customers that you should be able to see, reach out to your store's administrator for the appropriate changes to be made.
