Sales Quotes let you share a priced summary of a cart with a customer before placing the order. Build the cart at checkout as usual, then hand the customer a professional PDF quote they can review, sign, or circulate internally, all without placing an order.
Sales Quotes is an add-on feature and is not enabled by default. Reach out to your account manager or MedShift support to enable it for your tenant.
Creating a Quote
Start at checkout the same way you would for a regular order: choose the customer, add items, and set the addresses. When the cart is ready, select Send Quote at the top of the checkout page and choose one of two options:
Download as PDF…: save a copy of the quote to share however you like
Email to Customer…: send the quote directly to the customer
What's in a Quote
The generated PDF includes everything the customer needs to evaluate the purchase:
Customer details, the quote date, and who prepared it
Bill-to and ship-to addresses
Line items with quantities, unit prices, and amounts
Subtotal, shipping, tax, and the Quote Total
Signature and date lines
Each quote is marked as an estimate rather than a final invoice, noting that prices, availability, shipping, and tax are subject to change.
Quotes and Orders
Sending a quote does not place an order, reserve inventory, or charge the customer. When the customer is ready to move forward, place the order through the normal checkout flow.
