Commission can be assigned to a customer in two ways, both managed from the Commission Settings page on the customer detail view.
Ownership should be your primary means of attributing a customer's sales to a given rep. Overrides should be used as a secondary means, when there are exceptions to the ownership or other rules.
Customer Ownership
The Customer Ownership section assigns reps directly to a customer on a per-Sales Team basis. For each Sales Team the customer belongs to, choose which rep (or rep hierarchy) owns the customer. Use this when a rep genuinely owns the account.
Commission Overrides
The Commission Overrides section sets custom commission rules for a specific customer, on a per-Program basis. Use overrides to handle exceptions: a customer who gets a different rate on a particular Program, or one whose commission skips the usual calculation entirely.
Select Add Override to add a Program to the override list, then choose a commission strategy and assign reps with their own rate and level. Programs without an override use the default commission calculation from the rep's Sales Team.
Fixed Percentage Commission
Fixed Percentage commission lets you assign a commission rate per Program, per rep. Setting a fixed percentage override on a customer replaces the commission that would otherwise come from the Sales Team.
Rep Commission Overrides
The Rep Details page has its own Commission Overrides section, which displays every Program the rep is configured to receive commission for. Select Set Override to customize the commission settings for them at the Program and Sales Team level.
If no overrides are set, the page shows the default commission levels for the rep. Setting an override extends the settings from the Sales Team, which is useful for special deals on specific Programs.
