Overview
In Velocity, Programs are used to know what products are commissionable for a team, and what percentage to pay out to the rep once those products are bought.
In this guide, we'll show you how to create a Program from scratch and set up your compensation plan for your reps.
Creating a Program
To create a Program, go to one of your Team's details pages and click on Add a program.
Making Collections and Products Commissionable
Once you've created a program, you can now make products commissionable for your Team. Click on Add collection to bulk add your products to the program. If you don't have collections, you can also add products individually by clicking on Add product.
Setting Commission Payouts
After adding your products to your new program, scroll down to Commission Rules. Once there, click on the pencil icon next to the level that you would like to set a payout percentage on.
After that, set the percentage that you would like the rep to be paid on each product sold in the Rate section. You can also set a flat dollar amount that will be attributed to the rep per product sold in the Amount section.
The Rate and Amount are additive. This means that in the example above, the rep will receive 3% + $25 on each product sold in the program.
Adding Product Rules
Sometimes, you may want to set a different commission percentage/dollar amount on specific products. To do that, start by clicking on Add product rule under the Default rule.
After selecting a product, you can set the Rate and Amount, similar to how you can set those variables in the Default rule.
